Sewing Pattern Terms and Conditions of Use
Last updated: 01st July 2025
It’s great to have you here.
These terms explain how you can use your Jane Harbison Design sewing pattern. They are designed to protect the work behind each pattern while giving you the freedom to enjoy sewing and creating.
1. Ownership & Copyright
All sewing patterns are the intellectual property of Jane Harbison Design.
When you purchase or download a pattern, you are purchasing a licence to use the pattern, not ownership of the design itself.
You may:
- Download and print the pattern for personal use
- Store the files on your personal devices
You may not:
- Copy, share, or distribute the pattern digitally or physically
- Upload the pattern to file-sharing platforms or groups
- Resell or reproduce the pattern in any format
2. Personal Use
This pattern is designed for personal, non-commercial use.
That means you can:
- Sew garments for yourself
- Sew garments as gifts
- Use the pattern in your own personal projects
3. Commercial & Licensed Use
If you would like to use a Jane Harbison Design pattern beyond personal use, a separate licence may be required.
View licence options here:
Wholesale Teaching Licence
Use the Wholesale Teaching Licence if you are a sewing school or instructor running workshops or private lessons.
This licence gives you access to 10-pack or 20-pack student licences for a particular sewing pattern type across all size ranges and all included formats.
For example, if you purchase a licence for the Camp Collar Shirt, the licence covers that pattern type across all sizes included in that pattern, so you do not need to purchase a new licence each time you buy another size within the same pattern type.
Cottage Industry Licence
A Cottage Industry Licence allows you to sell up to 100 handmade garments per year using the Jane Harbison Design pattern nominated in your licence agreement.
This licence is purchased in addition to the nominated sewing pattern.
