Fabric Formula Workshop In Person - Know Your Colours

It is good to do a refresher because your facial features, skin colour and hair all change over time and often it is enough to change your type. 

In addition to your colour type I make recommendations on wearable combinations that are complimentary, analogous and monochrome. And if you want, you can purchase a sample of fabrics that suit.

There are three(3) parts to the Fabric Formula:

2. The Quiz
3. Your Fabric Formula Report

1. The Fabric Formula Guide

You are guided through a series of questions to determine your colour type, and understand pattern scale and density for your body shape and size.

This is a manual hands on process so you learn how to work it out for yourself. This is not automated, because we want you to be able to gain the knowledge to repeat this process over and over for the special people around you.

2. The Quiz

Once you have completed the Guide, you will be ready to take the Quiz. You need your answers from completing the Guide to answer the questions in the Quiz.

3. Your Fabric Formula Report

The results of your Quiz will deliver you your Fabric Formula Report. It will appear in your Jane Harbison Design Sewing Hub. A link will be emailed to you. In addition this will trigger delivery of your Fat Quarter of colour swatches.

After you have your Report you will be sent a Fat Quarter of cotton fabric with your colours on it so you can see how it looks on fabric and take it shopping with you.

You can always access your Hub from the Account Icon in the top right of this website or in the Footer "Access Your Sewing Hub".

No. An email is sent to you with the link to download your PDF and access you Quiz in your private Hub just prior to the workshop.

I have tested this on friends who have little idea of what the Fabric Formula is but have an interest in understanding what colours look good on them.

They were able to read and complete the checkboxes within minutes. These answers are then used to complete the online quiz. The document is in English. 

No. There are no ongoing costs. Just one upfront charge. If it was an app there would be. This is another reason why I have not designed this as an app. 

There is an opportunity to buy more Colour Type fabric swatches at the end of the workshop.

I want to know what you are. This helps me design the right fabrics for you. So you always have access to fabrics that suit you. 

My customers are based all around the world and I am genuinely interested in what suits you.

This will change over time as you change and age and that will be interesting to watch as well. It is silly for me to design a whole lot of fabrics in a Winter colour-way if none of my customers are Winter.

Yes, but…The Fabric Formula is designed with men in mind. References to body shape are for boys and men.

In addition fabric designs referred to suit boys and men. In saying this, it can also be insightful for women, in particular the colour types and fabric pattern scale and density for body size (not shape).

The Fabric Formula is a PDF. So you will need Adobe Reader (free) and access to the internet to download and do the quiz. The quiz is housed on an online survey software. 

I prefer this PDF method vs a digital app because this way you can learn each of the steps required to get the answer. Gaining skills is something I value and I have made sure to incorporate learning in the process. 

In addition it keeps the cost down for you.

This document is designed for boys and men. There are 5 men’s body shapes covered when I discuss fabric design scale and density. The rules can be applied to women.

There is no refund but you can send someone in your place if you can't make it on the day.

This can easily be an app but I want you to learn the process for yourself. I want you to see how the answers to your questions are processed to give you your Fabric Formula. 

This way you gain a life long skill that you can apply to all members of your family.
