What You Need To Make The Reversible Bucket Hat
- Fabric (Plain + Patterned 50cm of each)
- Matching thread
- Contrasting thread for topstitching (optional)
- Sewing Machine
- Pinking Shears
- Machine Walking Foot (optional)
Suggested Fabrics
The Men’s Bucket Hat works well with heavier weight fabrics so the brim holds it’s shape. Use a heavier cotton twill, cotton canvas, denim, fleece, velvet or towelling fabric. A light weight jersey, cotton, cotton/linen or linen will still work but the hat will have a floppier look.

Matching the fabric design is not so important with a Reversible Bucket Hat, but consider a plain colour fabric on one side and an allover scatter pattern for contrast. Wash your fabric before cutting out your pattern pieces. Some fabrics will shrink 3-5%.

We have sewing patterns for sewers at all skill level. Below is a list of sewing patterns you will find in our store with their corresponding difficulty to sew score.
Sewing Difficulty Scale:
1 = Beginner Easy to 5 = Experience Required

Quality Fabrics + Accuracy of Colour
The fabric chosen for our Sewing Kits is carefully considered for the garment.
The fabrics include Cotton Poplin, Organic Gauze, Cotton Linen and Satin and is fulfilled by Spoonflower (US). See the Shipping Policy for delivery times once ordered.
All fabric designs are by Jane Harbison Design.

The fabric has been tested for Colour and Pattern Scale Accuracy with the aim of "what you see is what you get" - but some variation in the natural fibres may cause some colours to present differently.
