I’m really excited to make this, but I want to make it special. My husband had a winter robe I bought him 30 years ago and while it is threadbare in parts he won’t part with it, so this summer robe needs to be the right fabric weight and colour. Still in the planning. Winter here in Australia so I have a little time for selection

The shorts turned out really well, the pattern was well presented and very easy to make with the aid of Jane's excellent step by step video tutorials. I enjoyed being part of the sew-along and look forward to more opportunities to participate and learn in this way. I had the lovely opportunity to join into the Valentine's day sewalong this weekend. It was my first sewalong and I really enjoyed the experience. I've been sewing on and off for 25 years or so. Sewing is a solo hobby for me and joining a sew-along makes it more communal.
The shorts pattern was easy to understand and cut out of the lovely fabric which was included in my sew-along. Jane's step by step videos were excellent to follow along. I really liked how the shorts turned out. Definitely recommend this pattern and I will definitely join more sew-alongs!

I am worried this won’t fit him?
- I understand. That is why this pattern includes seven (7) sizes, because one size does not fit all.
- Every pattern created here comes with Finished Garment measurements which are based upon our Standardised Body Measurements found in the Size Chart on every product page. The difference between the Body and the Finished Garment measurements are designed with comfort in mind, and this hat fits snuggly around the head.
- In addition, the pattern sizes are layered in the PDF providing flexibility for modification when you are cutting it out if needed.

What fabric should I make this pattern out of?
Fabric Type
The Men’s Bucket Hat works well with heavier weight fabrics so the brim holds it’s shape. Use a heavier cotton drill, cotton canvas, denim, fleece, velvet or towelling fabric. A light weight jersey, cotton, cotton/linen or linen will still work but the hat will have a floppier look.

Fabric Design
Matching the fabric design is not so important with a Reversible Bucket Hat, but consider a plain colour fabric on one side and an allover scatter pattern for contrast.
