Iām really excited to make this, but I want to make it special. My husband had a winter robe I bought him 30 years ago and while it is threadbare in parts he wonāt part with it, so this summer robe needs to be the right fabric weight and colour. Still in the planning. Winter here in Australia so I have a little time for selection

The shorts turned out really well, the pattern was well presented and very easy to make with the aid of Jane's excellent step by step video tutorials. I enjoyed being part of the sew-along and look forward to more opportunities to participate and learn in this way. I had the lovely opportunity to join into the Valentine's day sewalong this weekend. It was my first sewalong and I really enjoyed the experience. I've been sewing on and off for 25 years or so. Sewing is a solo hobby for me and joining a sew-along makes it more communal.
The shorts pattern was easy to understand and cut out of the lovely fabric which was included in my sew-along. Jane's step by step videos were excellent to follow along. I really liked how the shorts turned out. Definitely recommend this pattern and I will definitely join more sew-alongs!

The difference between the Body and the Finished Garment measurements are designed with comfort in mind, so you have room to move.
- In addition, each Pattern Range (Boy, Youth, Men and Men Plus) contains 4 sizes, providing flexibility for modification where needed.Ā

What fabric should I make this pattern out of?
It depends on the purpose of the robe (dressing gown). Lightweight fabrics for summer such as 100% Cotton, Linen, Linen/Cotton blend, Cotton Seersucker, Cotton Poplin, or Rayon.
For the cooler months Terry Towelling or a modern Wool blend works nicely. All these have good wicking properties so they are great for drying off after a shower. For a luxurious look silk or satin fall beautifully in this pattern. Read this article to get fabric suggestions for a Summer Robe.
